Product Review - Norwex Oven and Grill Cleaner

Another Product I would love to share this review on is about Norwex Oven and Grill Cleaner.
I used to use Easy Off oven cleaner to clean my oven and when I did, I used to have to plan a whole day out of the house for my family. How awful to plan my day out not because of nice weather but because of cleaning my oven and not wanting to breath in toxic fumes.

I did some reading on what was actually in other oven cleaners and found out that standard oven cleaners contain lye and petroleum distillates and come in aerosol containers. None of this is good for your health…and certainly not good for the environment. Standard oven cleaners carry a health rating of 3, which means they cause serious health effects and they are known to cause burns to skin, eyes, mouth, throat, and even stomach – on contact! Overspray has also resulted in permanent damage to flooring and countertops.

So the next time I cleaned my oven, I used Norwex Oven and Grill Cleaner. I couldnt believe my eyes when I was finished with it! It cleaned the oven in one go and I didnt have to use any toxic chemicals to do it. it was so easy. All I had to do was
heat the oven to 100 F, apply, wait for 5 minutes, and wipe with an Envirocloth. Really tough spots may require a second treatment and/or scrubbing with a Spirisponge. Use of gloves is recommended though as this cleaner is amazingly effective, and prolonged contact could result in some skin irritation.

Norwex Oven and Grill Cleaner carries a health rating of 1! The primary active ingredients are enzymes and bacteria which do an amazing job of naturally breaking down baked-on fats, oils, greases, proteins, and carbohydrates.

Norwex Drain Care Product Review

One of my biggest concerns with chemical cleaning is has how to clear a clogged drain without dumping an entire bottle of Draino down the problem drain. The few times I have used Draino I had to leave the room, close the door and keep my kids and everyone else out of the room. I was coughing and wheezing after that experience. After that caustic chemical experience I decided to try to find a more enviromentally and human friendly alternative to cleaning drains.

The sink in my bathrrom always drains pretty slow, and even smells a bit funny when I run water down it and I am just waiting for the day for it to clog up on me and I amnot going to bring out Draino again. So this time, as even a prevenative measure I brought out the Norwex Drain Care and gave it a try. It is as easy and pouring one scoop of enzyme powder into the drain and washing it down with 1/4 cup of warm water. Once the water was added the enzyme powder fizzed up dramatically and them slowly receded down the drain. As recommended I did this at night for best results. When I used the sink in the morning I was pleased to see water ran down very smoothly and the smell was gone out of my drain!

So I recommended Norwex Drain Care to a friend with a clogged drain and she had the same results but it completely cleared her clogged drain!

This product is fantastic and I would highly reccommend it to anyone who has drain clogging problems or even just wants to use a chemical free prevenative maintenence for drain care with no smell and no caustic chemicals. I will never have to use Draino or liquid plummer again to remove clogs in any drain!

SWAB Test For Chicken Residue

This is just amazing! A fellow Norwex consultant contacted me about these swabs she has been using at parties to show how effective the microfiber cloths are against bacteris. She writes to me:

"I have personally been using these swabs for the past 11 months. I have demonstrated them at more than 45 of my own shows.
I have tested many different types of meat against the Norwex enviro cloth and have NEVER had a test fail. "

I find our new customers have a hard time believing you can remove chicken reside using only water, this test demonstrates conclusively that it does!

Thanks,

Carole Kuypers

People seem to ask me why does Norwex clean better than bleach. I know for alot of people it is hard to wrap their head around using microfiber and water and taking bleach right out of their cleaning regime.

So here is an ACTUAL answer from a tech advisor from Norwex. If you have any technical questions about NOrwex products, feel free to email me at naturally.norwex@gmail.com and I will send them in. They get so many questions and always have good solid answers!

Why Norwex cleans better than bleach

By Candi Bezte, Norwex Science and technical Advisor

Chlorine levels in a common swimming pool range from about 0.5 to 1 ppm. These levels were shown to affect lung capacity in athletes with no history of lung ailment, who were exercising within or near the pool. The incidence of respiratory trouble ws just under 20% at .05ppm but was over 60% at 1 ppm.

Chlorine concentrations recommended for cleaning/disinfecting daycares are between 500-1000 ppm(approximately 1000 times higher than swimming pool water).

Bleach is so highly reactive, that it pretty much instantly reacts with substances that it comes in contact with. That is why it is so effective at killing absolutely everything! When it is combined with organic matter it forms organ chlorine substances, many of which can be carcinogenic.

Recent study (Odabasi 2008) on products that contain bleach together with other ingredients has revealed that bleach can react with soaps, fragrances or other ingredients within the bottle to produce some very high toxic substances. These may include relatively high levels of tetrachloride and chloroform.

The FDA has banned carbon tetrachloride in all residential products as they find it to be so hazardous that no warning label could adequately protect the householder. Carbon tetrachloride is also a probable human carcinogen and ozone depleting substance and a powerful greenhouse gas.

Moral of the story....bleach should be avoided whenever possible and should NEVER be mixed with any other products other than water!

I love the Norwex Enviro Cloth for all my cleaning and use only water and have never turned back :)
